Maritime Regulatory Authorities

In order to keep all recreational and commercial boating safe, State and National Maritime Authorities may have different requirements of safety equipment to be carried on board or when to wear a lifejacket for example.  Always check with the maritime authority  relevant to you, to ensure you are following their guidelines as well when you are on the water.

AMSA

As Australia’s national regulatory body, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority promotes the safety and protection of Australia’s marine environment. AMSA provides the infrastructure for safety of navigation in Australian waters and maintain a national search and rescue service for the maritime and aviation sectors.
