Sail Canada and Australian Sailing Dinghy Instructor Qualification Recognition.
Published Mon 26 Aug 2024
Australian Sailing is pleased to share that our dinghy instructor qualifications are now recognised by Sail Canada as equivalent to the Sail Canada CANSail instructor levels 1-5, creating greater flexibility and opportunities for our instructors wishing to work overseas.
To support Australian Sailing qualified instructors who wish to travel and work in Canada, we have recently connected with Sail Canada to streamline the qualification transfer process. Australian Sailing qualified instructors can now join the Canadian sailing community without needing to retrain or requalify when they get there.
Australian Sailing has also established reciprocal agreements with Sail Canada and the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in the UK and the Irish Sailing Federation, ensuring that their qualifications are recognised in Australia. This means instructors holding qualifications from these respected bodies can work in Australia without needing to retrain. This recognition aims to enhance the availability of instructors for the network of Australian Sailing, Discover Sailing Centres.
Australian Sailing is committed to supporting our instructors, whether through international qualification recognition or providing resources and development opportunities for skill enhancement, we strive to ensure Australian Sailing instructors are well-equipped and highly respected worldwide.
This recent recognition by Sail Canada highlights the quality of our Australian sailing training programs and our dedication to the development of our instructors.
