Proposing Rule Changes
Published Tue 16 Mar 2021
Boat owners wanting to propose changes to rating rules should contact Australian Sailing.
The IRC and ORC rating rules provide annual opportunities to review rules and consider proposed changes. Australian Sailing is inviting boat owners to contribute to this process by proposing any rule changes they think are needed for either rating system.
The usual format sought is an email or document:
1. Identifying the current position that is subject to the proposal.
2. Showing the rule change by underlining what is added or striking out what is deleted (tracked changes).
3. Explaining the reason for the change.
Australian Sailing will pass proposed rule changes by the Owners’ Working Group to filter, provide feedback, and refine for submission to the given rule authority.
Proposed rule changes should be submitted to ratings@sailing.org.au by 18 May 2021.
