New appeals published to AS website
Published Thu 03 Mar 2022
With all the sailing that happened over summer there are 4 new appeals published to the Australian Sailing website.
Reading appeals are a great way to learn how the Racing Rules of Sailing are applied to different situations.
The new appeals are from 4 interesting situations. One is around a windward boat not keeping clear, another is concerning collision around a mark rounding, while the third is between 2 boats from different clubs rounding the same mark. The most recent appeal to be published is a second appeal to the reopened protest hearing regarding the windward boat not keeping clear.
Judges, or race officials, and other people who have a high level of rules expertise such as sailing managers and sailing committee members, or tacticians who are interested in learning how appeals are handled and decided should register their interest in attending an online masterclass.
