Maximising your welcome email
Published Tue 24 Aug 2021
revSPORT is set up to provide members with access to manage their information via their online profile. To assist in achieving this the system is configured to send an auto-generated welcome email when a member registers or renews. The email includes
Australian Sailing Number
Username
LogIn links
SailPass dates (for SailPass members)
This information is crucial for members to be able to keep their existing number when joining other clubs and reduce the number of duplicates in the system. Without this email, members are unlikely to know what their Australian Sailing number is.
This information also enables members to look after their own information in the system and reduces administration at the club.
What is in the Welcome email?
The welcome email comes with:
System content for access: AS Number, username, links to set up a password
Customised club content: Every club has the option to include tailored content to suit your club, and appropriately welcome new and returning members to your club.
Australian Sailing content: We have added information here to direct members to login to their information stored nationally, including qualifications etc.

Is your club sending the Welcome email?
Not all clubs are sending the welcome email. To check if your club is sending the Welcome email, log in to your revSPORT portal
Click ACCOUNT account in the top right of the admin portal
Click ACCOUNT DETAILS Account Details
Scroll to Additional information to see if your club has the welcome email enabled.
If you do have the email enabled you will see: Welcome Email: YES! Your portal has the welcome email enabled
If you do not have the email enabled you will see: Welcome Email: NO! Your portal DOES NOT have the welcome email enabled.
How do we get the Welcome email enabled?
If your club is listed as NOT sending the welcome email, please complete the Welcome Email OPT IN form here: sailing.org.au/welcome
This notifies Australian Sailing that your club would like this functionality enabled, and we will work with revSPORT to activate this for you and let you know once complete.
What to include in your Welcome email?
We have many clubs across Australia with some great welcome email content. It is important to make sure your members feel welcome, so we strongly suggest you enable the welcome email in your revSPORT portal.
Provide contact information and opening hours
Introduce your committee
Highlight key club events
Provide details of social events and how to get involved
