An Interim Report on the capsize of “The Big Hairy” has been uploaded to the Australian Sailing website. The yacht was enroute from Rosslyn Bay Queensland to the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Manly Queensland, to participate in the Brisbane to Keppel Yacht Race. The keel snapped off the vessel, causing the vessel to capsize, one crew tragically lost their life and the two surviving crew were rescued. 

The report is interim pending further detailed information about the original design and construction of the yacht, the incident itself or subsequent rescue.
