Australian Sailing has completed changes needed to accredit Equipment Auditors directly, and have removed the need for appointment by a club.

Equipment Auditors are now being accredited by Australian Sailing directly and no longer require a club to appoint them as part of the accreditation process. Equipment Auditors are now covered by Australian Sailing’s liability and indemnity insurance.

The reason for the change is because Equipment Auditors play their role in accordance with Australian Sailing procedures to check compliance with the Special Regulations. They are trained and accredited under policies set by Australian Sailing.

Information on the website, training resources and online accreditation systems have all been updated to reflect this important change in policy.
