The Cruising Yacht Club of Hamilton Island have an initiative in place to include a ‘Safety Hint’ their electronic newsletter each month.

The CYCHI have enlisted the help of their club’s safety committee to write an article for each month’s newsletter, giving its members information around a specific safety topic. 

For the month of March 2021, the topic was around First Aid Essentials and what extra kit may be a good idea to carry onboard over and above what is required for the Special Regulations per category of racing. They also talked about the importance of a crew briefing ensuring all crew are familiar with using the technology on board to call for help in an emergency situation.

This a great initiative, ensuring that the topic of safety is always at the forefront of boat owners thinking.
