The Accreditation Process
The accreditation steps are –
- An initial review of your site
- Signing the Discover Sailing Centre Agreement
- Paying the annual Discover Sailing Centre accreditation fee
The Centre Review
An Australian Sailing staff member will do an initial review to assess your policies, procedures, facilities, and equipment to ensure they meet the requirements outlined in the DSC Operating Standards and Guidelines.
What will be reviewed is explained in the Discover Sailing Centre Self Review Form
This list looks like a lot of items, but only the items relevant to the programs your centre wants to deliver need to be reviewed.
Australian Sailing can provide templates for the essential documentation to help you get started.
Australian Sailing staff use an app version of the review form. After the site visit you will be emailed a copy of the review with any items that need to be completed, for example you may need to buy new batteries for your torches, before the accreditation can be completed.
